THE MOVIEUM TAKES YOU BEHIND THE SCENES OF FILM MAKING

The Movieum is London’s newest attraction in the heart of London, taking you behind the scenes of the historic film industry in the UK.

An educational journey into film, suitable for all ages

Real Life Sets – Step into the action of the sound stage, where you can walk on set and be part of the ovie making experience. Miniaturisation of Film – Oversized and undersized props provide a perfect photo opportunity for you to look like you’re really in the Land of the Giants!

The History of the Studios – Elstree, Pinewood, Shepperton. From the Golden Age to the Golden Compass, the Movieum features a revealing insight into the studios where movie history was made.

From Film Lover to Film Maker - A step by step guide to Film Making from an initial script to the final dit. Listen to Oscar winning artists tell their tales behind some of the biggest blockbusters of all time.

Each department is broken down with separate explanations and documentaries. Add your own sound in the sound studio, fly in the clouds in our green screen virtual studio.

Prop Art – Come and see some of the most famous props in film making history created and ntroduced by the most prolific artists of today. Amongst the displays you will find the original costume Christopher Reeve wore in the 1978 classic Superman and the original Batsuit that Michael Keaton wore for Tim Burton’s Batman, courtesy of The Prop Store of London.

Animation Studio - FUN FOR THE YOUNGER STUDENTS – Come and see how The Shubrook Bros.  created their children’s animation character KIDD WEST from concept to pilot. The Kidd West miniature stop motion cowboy town is now on display,  surrounded by a host of activities for Kids including storyboard colouring-in, plastercine modelling and building bricks. Small Screen to Big Screen – Come and sit in our giant lounge and watch some of the classic TV series that made it to feature film status.

Movieum Learning – The learning room has many interactive and fun programmes for you to experience from 3D modelling to fun face manipulations.

The Film 24 Theatre – Sit back and relax whilst you watch exclusive interviews of some of the biggest stars.

Stills Gallery – Photographic gallery displaying unique behind the scenes images from some of the top UK productions.

THE ANIMATION ART GALLERY
FUN FOR ALL AGES

From Script to the Screen – the process of animation through the years -From Beatrix Potter, Dangermouse, Bagpuss, Mr Benn to Peppa Pig, original art used in the making of the episodes and films, limited editions created from the original artwork archived in the Studios.

Comic artists in residence – See the characters and page come to life, speak to the artists behind the magic.

Masterclasses (Extra)
Learn the foundations and draw like a Pro! Hosted by resident comic artist and animator Huw-J-, the new artist of Garth for the Daily Mirror.
Classes consist of daily sessions. Understand the basics of the characters you want.

The Movieum is an educational experience for all ages.
It has been created by the film industry itself and will educate any students about the techniques and artistry that goes into making films. It will also increase awareness that so many International productions are made in the UK and by British crews.

The Movieum will show:

* Who makes the films
* What films are made in the UK
With contributions and support from amongst others the British Film Institute, Film London and Granada International, the exhibition will engage and promote all aspects of movie making in this Country.

PRICES
All students entrance into The Movieum: £9 each (including The Animation Art Gallery)
For each group of 10, 1 teacher goes free, otherwise each additional teacher will be at the
concessionary rate of £9
Tour Guides
Movieum Tour Guide – £50 for group of 10 (additional to entrance fee)
Animation Art Tour Guide – £30 per for group of 10 (additional to entrance fee)
Masterclasses – £5 per person for half hour session – max-20 students (teachers go free)
